汉武帝一日乘鹿行至现在的鹿台村，白鹿刨地，见一热泉喷涌，洗脸之后舒适无比，脸上的疮也好了，汉武帝大悦，御封此泉为"宝泉圣水"，这就是今天的白鹿温泉。

白鹿温泉传说——桃花池

传说王母娘娘出生于平山县的王母村，成仙之后生有七位仙女，仙女们常锁天宫，想到人间走走，借王母娘娘举办蟠桃盛宴，七位仙女拨开云层看见王母村附近有一处青山秀水，桃红柳绿之地。便偷偷下凡，在桃花掩映的溪流中洗了温泉浴，此地就是现在的温塘。

七位仙女洗澡的场面被当地村姑看见了，仙女走后，村姑们学着仙女的样子，也在河中洗起来。这一天，正好是农历三月三，温塘人把这一天定为一年一度的庙会日，三月又称为"姑洗月"，这里的温泉水又成为"桃花水"，每当三月三，十里八乡的姑娘、媳妇争着来温塘赶庙会，争着去洗桃花水。

传说年轻人在桃花节时沐浴桃花水可使青春常驻，祛除疾病，并在新的一年中福运长在、好运长随。
